The 1 for 7 Veerni Program

Education for a girl extends over seven years so preferably Veerni seeks to find generous donations for one (or more) girl for those seven years rather than, for example, seven girls for a year.

This 1 for 7program will single out one girl of at least 10 years old and who has already passed the grade 5 at primary school. That girl may have eventually followed the pre-school training program prior to her entry at the Institute if she has been selected but that her educational level is not good enough to join directly.

The curriculum will be going up to the 12th grade (7 years).

Conclusion

• Veerni is an entirely privately funded NGO. So only charitable donations will allow Veerni to perform its mission.
• Veerni has the highest respect for money donated and wants to think it behaves with the utmost probity and care for each dollar spent.
• Over the years, Veerni has created a demand, particularly from the poorer and lower caste communities, for the education of their daughters.
• The Veerni Institute,regretfully, refuses on average some 250 girls yearly.

FUNDING NEEDS FOR:

• Accommodation in one of the 6 large shared bedrooms.
• A governess is appointed to supervise and take care of the girls and is responsible for their health and safety.
• Health care services: nurse, doctor, and medicines, sanitary napkins provided.
• The annual school fees.
• Tuition teachers for help and extracurricular studies. (Computer, English, Art and Craft).
• Other cultural/educational activities. Excursions (twice a year).
• Three major meals per day (breakfast, lunch, and dinner, plus morning milk and afternoon fruits).
• Backpacks, water bottles, lunch boxes.
• School uniforms, belts, shoes and ties.
• School supplies as school exercise books, pens and pencils, pencil cases.
• Products for personal hygiene (shampoo, toothbrush, bathing soaps, combs).
• Laundry space and soaps for washing cloth and other upkeep expensesprovided.
